Unknown Island
When I was lately on my way
To Cuba for a holiday
The heavy weather forced the plane to turn aside
To a strange and unknown island for a fortnight
It was an odd and cheerful stay
The population was relaxed and gay
They had a very marvelous democracy
And with a lot of nice authorities
Because:
The sunny population sets it as a rule
The secretary of state must be a funny fool
And at the top, the height of excellence
They always want a lunatic for president
They always want a lunatic for president
When I came with the airplane
And this experience home again
To my fantastic, sure the best, democracy
I saw the difference again
The gloomy population and the rain
Our life with money but without illusions
A funny fool comparison is my conclusion
The cheerless population sets it as a rule
The secretary of state is really just a fool
And at the top, the height of excellence
The always vote a lunatic for president
The always vote a lunatic for president
